Lord Of The Rings, Vol. 1

A special double CD at single CD price, re-issuing the first part of the most ambitious musical interpretation of Tolkien's epic story ever attempted.. ? John Sangster calls this a crazed montage of all the Jazz idioms he has been involved with - and it is a fabulous mix of styles, to suit characters and situations, plenty to please every taste - but still a coherent piece overall. This trilogy was originally issued on 3 double LPs by EMI in the 1970 's, and is one of the most epic Jazz productions ever, containing over 7 hours of music. The complete trilogy has been re-issued, together with Sangster's Landscapes of Middle Earth, this being the first part. So... you've read the books, seen the films, now hear the music. An essential album for any Jazz or Tolkien fan. Plus extras galore....... All the original LP artwork (in.pdf files), and rare video footage of Sangster in action!
