Wild Places (Bonus Tracks) (Jmlp)

Released in 1978, The Wild Places marks a bold reinvention for English singer-songwriter Duncan Browne. Departing from the acoustic intimacy of his earlier work, this album embraces a fully electric sound that blends progressive rock, synthpop, and cosmopolitan sophistication. Browne, fresh from his tenure with the art-rock band Metro, delivers a polished and introspective solo effort. Backed by elite session musicians-including Tony Hymas on synthesizers, John Giblin on bass, and Simon Phillips on drums-the album radiates technical finesse and emotional depth. The production is sleek, the arrangements cinematic, and the atmosphere rich with romantic tension. Browne's vocals glide through lush textures and dramatic melodies, evoking comparisons to Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music. The Wild Places is a sonic journey through desire, isolation, and urban mystique. Ideal for collectors of refined '70s rock and synth-driven elegance, this LP remains a hidden treasure of it's era. Whether you're curating a boutique selection or seeking a standout reissue, The Wild Places offers timeless allure with modern resonance.
