We Are Frank Chickens (Blk) (Fra)

We Are Frank Chickens by Frank Chickens is back on vinyl-a bold, eccentric, and genre-defying debut that first hit the scene in 1984. Blending post-punk, synth-pop, performance art, and satirical wit, this cult classic introduced the world to the unique voice of Japanese-British duo Kazuko Hohki and Kazumi Taguchi. With it's minimalist arrangements, offbeat humor, and subversive edge, the album stands as a vibrant artifact of alternative music in the '80s. From the quirky anthem "We Are Ninja (Not Geisha)" to the surreal spoken-word rhythm of "Shellfish Bamboo," Frank Chickens deliver playful but pointed commentary on identity, culture, and stereotypes. Their songs are as much performance pieces as they are tracks-layered with irony, spoken vocals, and electronic textures. It's outsider pop with purpose, brimming with creativity and fearless originality. This long-overdue vinyl reissue restores a landmark in avant-garde pop history. We Are Frank Chickens remains a must-have for collectors of post-punk oddities, feminist art, and trailblazing underground music. Unapologetically strange and refreshingly smart, the album still sounds ahead of it's time.
