Golden Oldies (Mod)

Vincent Montenegro, better known by his stage name Vinnie Monte, was an early rock n' roll crooner and teen idol who first appeared on record in the mid-1950s. Monte was in the same league as Paul Anka, Neil Sedaka, Bobby Rydell, Billy Vee, and Dion. He was the featured artist on the very first single ("Naughty Naughty Baby" b/w "I Wrote A Poem") released on the New York City based Fargo Records label in 1958 which also featured the great Long Island based vocal group The Aquatones on backing vocals. This compilation starts off with that iconic single and then focuses on Monte's late 1950s and 1960 releases for the Decanter label, which was a Fargo subsidiary. These rare teen boppers and ballads are highly sought after by collectors of early rock n' roll and doo-wop and are presented here newly remastered for this exclusive release.
