ABOUT THE ALBUM
Backed by stellar West Coast musicians, vocalist Cathy Hayes performed as a professional for seven years before she recorded her only album in 1959 before regrettably disappearing from the Jazz scene. Under the direction of famed guitarist Barney Kessel, the cast of musicians backing Cathy's extraordinary vocals include the guitars of Barney Kessel and Howard Roberts, Larry Bunker on vibes, Monte Budwig on bass, Shelly Manne and Mel Lewis on drums, Conte Candoli on trumpet, Bud Shank on alto sax, Bill Perkins and Ted Nash on tenor saxes, Justin Gordon on baritone sax and the piano of Jimmy Rowles. An extraordinary album by a vocalist who faded from the scene before getting her just due. All selections newly re-mastered. [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand].
