ABOUT THE ALBUM
These vintage sound recordings were collected in Haiti and the island of La Tortue by folklorist and musicologist Maurice Bitter with the agreement of the Hougans (priests) during actual Voodoo ceremonies. Bitter is a well known ethnomusicologist and prolific author of historical anthropology. Classic recordings, newly remastered.
