Recorded live on May 30, the program consists of beloved works by Verdi including the Triumphal March from Aida, "La mia letizia infondere" aria from I Lombardi, dances from Otello and the overtures from Luisa Miller and Forza del Destino. These pieces alternate with selections from Wagner's best known works including the Prelude to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, the Story of the Holy Grail from Lohengrin and the popular favorite "Ride of the Valkyries" from Die Walküre. With the UNESCO World Heritage setting of the Baroque park of Schönbrunn Palace as the backdrop, the Summer Night Concert adds stunning visuals to the superb musical program.
