Soul of the Tango

YoYo Ma is an exclusive Sony Classical artist, and his discography of over 75 albums (including more than 15 Grammy Award winners) reflects his wide-ranging interests. This album is heavily influenced by Astor Piazzola, an Argentine tango composer and bandoneon player. Piazzolla's nuevo tango was distinct from the traditional tango in it's incorporation of elements of jazz, it's use of extended harmonies and dissonance, it's use of counterpoint, and it's ventures into extended compositional forms. The Soul of the Tango album is a masterful work of the nuevo tango, played by Ma's cello and many of Piazzolla's former associates. This recording has been mastered by the K2 HD format of 24-bit 100 kHz, which creates an unbelievable sound surpassing other formats! This K2 HD Mastering CD will play on all CD players!
