Make Elegance

Your Skull's fourth consecutive EP, Make Elegance, is a romp through the rock and punk past, yet forward-looking in it's present-day ironies and skillful use of melancholy harmony. 'Ms. Black-Eyed Medicine,' the EP's opening cut, sounds like a merger of James Brown and Nirvana, while 'Special Feelings' is an extraterrestrial pop song, it's theme darkened by the opening line: 'Somebody shot somebody/Talk into my bullet hole.' In a time when true, non-processed guitar rock is often labeled passe by hipsters and critics, Your Skull tread a fascinating road upon which the rock spirit is shamelessly championed and amplified bravado leads the way.
