Seasonal Disguise

A Seasonal Disguise is a musical arts collective hailing from Boise, Idaho. Initially the solo act of Z.V. House, A Seasonal Disguise has grown into a dynamic group of musicians disguised as performance artists. Blending countless influences their music is varied & individual. Every show is a unique event with new ways to engage the audience. Go to a show, you might end up a part of the band. Their debut album is an untitled work written & recorded by Z.V. House in November 2007 as a response to NaNoWriMo. The current collective, featuring Alan A. Z.V. House Julia G. Aaron N. Josh S. Karen J. S. Nik W. & Sup, is working on a new album to be released spring of 2010. What others have said... 'So kann sich die mannschaft akustisch aufstellen und erinnert an einen frühen neil young oder aber man bläst a us vollen rohren und kommt einer band wie arcade fire erstaunlich nahe. Mir kommt die reduziertere variante mehr entgegen. Das keyboard klimpert ungeniert, i'm gemeinsamen gesang entstehen verführerische melodien und der unterbau ist unverfänglich und belegt stilistische und instrumentelle breite.' - Das Klienicum 'The song writing is strikingly mature and developed...I'm pretty blown away that this is coming out of Boise - by a guy who still has to have a day job.' - The Unequivocal Notion 'A Seasonal Disguise is one of those bands you should really get to know.' - Idaho Press Tribune '...from the opening number, 'What about you?' a haunting, wistful tune, to the closing 'ad infintum', this is a superb album showcasing a Randy Newman range of songwriting. Every song can stand alone. 'Won't you hibernate with me?' rotates around what has to be one of the more unique pick up lines I've heard.' - Amazon Review 'A Seasonal Disguise operates under the long, crooked shadow of Neil Young, but the resultant music has a fractured pop sensibility, with gentle arrangements and frayed vocals providing a very precise perspective, with remarkable attention to detail and shading.' - End Hits (The Portland Mercury music blog)//.
