Errol

Haleek Maul is a 23yo rapper & singer born in Brooklyn and raised in Barbados, whose unique sound blends trap & Caribbean influences. His debut album 'Errol' is a dark and enigmatic journey filled with infectious beats that showcase Haleek's sonic versatility. "combines post-Yeezus rap with underground club music and a dancehall lilt" FACT He's been co-signed by Clams Casino, Flatbush Zombies, RZA, Mick Jenkins, Saul Williams, Wiley and Brockhampton's Merlyn and Dom. Previously selected for FADER's coveted 'GEN F' emerging artists feature, he's premiered music on Ebro Darden's Apple Beats1 show and received support from the likes of Pitchfork, Complex and The Needle Drop. Vice and NME have called him a "rap prodigy". Recent single 'Ceiling Fan', produced by Morris, found him opening a new musical chapter. It channels his bajan background as he alternates between technical raps and fleeting moments of Caribbean vocal rhythms, which offered a taste of the new sounds Haleek explores on 'Errol'. The record will appeal to fans of Travis Scott, Denzel Curry, Brockhampton & Gaika. 'Errol' features stand-out guest appearances from Chicago's Mick Jenkins, Toronto's Sean Leon, NYC MC Ro Ransom, and Haleek's bajan peers, Jah Koda, Fantom Dundeal and Island Levvy. Beats come from GILA, Morris, Sega Bodega, Sebastian Sartor, Chris Rose, Hudson Alexander, HLMNSRA, Pablo Melendez and Shaayz. "Maul's settled on a style that pairs dramatic bass-heavy electronic beats with rhymes that favor a confessional and almost emo streak." Phillip Mlynar, Bandcamp
