ABOUT THE ALBUM
Stellar Jays is the fourth album from this critically-acclaimed, JUNO-nominated band; and the first time all five band mates have contributed original material to a Jaybirds album. Ranging from old-time-infused bluegrass to innovative instrumentals and contemporary ballads, the original numbers are rounded out with unique takes on timeless, rarely-heard classics. Together through seven years of touring and four albums, the highly-polished Jaybirds include renowned player and composer John Reischman on mandolin and vocals, Jim Nunally on guitar and vocals, Trisha Gagnon on bass and vocals, Nick Hornbuckle on banjo and vocals, and Greg Spatz on fiddle. The lead vocals and harmonies are particularly strong on Stellar Jays, blending seamlessly with always-impeccable, beautifully-toned instrumental work. 'The Jaybirds old-time flavor modernizes and freshens the bluegrass form...' -Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine.
