Members Don't Git Weary (Pnk) (Col)

In a six-decade career that saw the brilliant drummer/bandleader dig into a dizzying array of jazz styles (from bop to free), this 1968 Atlantic LP was still a standout. Featuring Gary Bartz (sax), Charles Tolliver (trumpet), Jymie Merritt (bass), Stanley Cowell (the pianist here who penned half these compositions) and Andy Bey (vocalist on the title tune), this album is a masterpiece of modal jazz. Your ears might detect early echoes of jazz-fusion as you hear "Equipoise," "Effi," "Abstrutions," "Libra," "Absolutions" and that title track. This is the album's long overdue first American vinyl reissue, and this exclusive edition is a super-limited pressing on pink vinyl-just 500 copies, and you'll ONLY find it at Collectors' Choice Music! Real Gone Music.
