ABOUT THE ALBUM
When a band's debut begins with the lines, 'At the lonesome Chinese lunch buffet/Some Kyoto tunes in a minor key,' you know you're in for some well-considered, pent-up misery. This Birmingham, Ala., folk/pop quintet runs on the fumes of Jody Nelson's hangdog vocals and is detailed by vintage organs and pedal-steel guitar. 'Home Lobotomy' is positively eels-like, a sad song with the perfect amount of grim humor. -MAGNET Magazine.
