Biography-Greatest Hits

Among British female vocalists, Lisa Stansfield has stood supreme for almost 15 years. You might call her the UK's leading soul diva. Certainly, she's as soulful as they come with a breathtaking voice & a remarkable range. Yet 'diva' doesn't seem quite right. The primadonna connotations of the word don't really fit the down-to-earth honesty & lack of pretension that characterize the girl from Rochdale, Lancashire who has gone on to sell 13 million albums world-wide. Her songs have become part of the soundtrack of our lives & have won her countless awards, including 3 BRITs, 2 Ivor Novellos & a Grammy nomination. But it's perhaps only when you listen to them collected together, 17 in fact, on her first Greatest Hits collection entitled 'Biography' that you realize just how deeply her music has penetrated our consciousness. This limited edition version includes a bonus disc of 6 of the most popular dance remixes of her songs, 'Change' (Knuckles Mix), 'Never, Never Gonna Give You Up' (Knuckles Mix), 'People Hold On' (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Mix), 'The Line' (Black Science Orchestra Mix), '8-3-1' (David Morales Club Mix Long Intro) & 'Never Gonna Fall' (Junior Vasquez Mix). BMG. 2003.
