Cello Sonatas 1 & 2 / Elegie Debussy: Cello Sonata

Faure: Cello Sonatas 1 & 2; Elegie / Debussy: Cello Sonata / Gabriel Fauré (Composer), Claude Debussy (Composer), Paul Tortelier (Performer) Unlike other renditions of Faure's music, this one is full of fire and intellectual energy. It leaves far behind the image of Faure as a quiet, meditative man whose music is often referred to as consisting of grays, lavenders and mauves. The performances are masterful. If this doesn't make you sit up and take notice, you are really a tough audience.
