Dead of the World

Occult black metal tyrants Ascension released their highly anticipated new album, 'The Dead of the World' at Stereogum. Regarding the album, the band comments: "'The Dead of the World' has become an album about death, an album about the dark gods that lay hidden and hungry beyond the stars, an album about those who have turned their face from god, an album for those who are dead to the world, those who are ready to crush everything that you may consider worthwhile, peaceful and righteous to dust, it has become a sermon for the dead and a prayer for salvation. 'The Dead of the World' is a record about those who stand in the shadows of this world, yet in their very own kingdom."
