Digitally remastered edition appearing for the first time on CD. James Mtume and Reggie Lucas lend their hand to a different type of produced sound for them and they come through with flying colors resulting in a superb sophisticated jazz style of their own complimenting Gary's alto. Bartz was the only album that Gary Bartz recorded for Arista. Produced by Mtume and Lucas in1980, Bartz is very much in their style (rather than Gary's). It is probably, Gary Bartz's most soulful album with tracks like the popular `Music', `After Glow' and the 2 Step `Keep Goin On' stealing the show. `Need Your Love' and `After The Love Has Gone' are also nice tunes.
