ABOUT THE ALBUM
Don McLean Sings Marty Robbins is a tribute album that Don McLean released in 1975, paying homage to one of his musical idols, Marty Robbins. Robbins was a legendary figure in country music, known for hits like "El Paso" and "Big Iron," and McLean, who was already known for his folk and country-infused style, took on some of Robbins' most iconic songs. The album features McLean's renditions of Robbins' classics, with McLean's characteristic voice and heartfelt delivery. Some tracks on the album include "El Paso," "Big Iron," and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." It's a nice mix of McLean's folk sensibilities paired with Robbins' country storytelling.
