Trapped

Proxima begins the launch of his debut album Alpha with Trapped. It's title track, a lean halfstep monolith, ranks as one of his toughest and most minimal tracks, and has recently been a deadly fixture in the arsenal of the scene's leading DJs. Trapped is the latest in a string of blistering singles for Tempa, which show Proxima carving out a stark and synthetic vision of 140bpm club music. His frosty evocations of deep space evoke Detroit pioneers like Jeff Mills, Doppler effect, and DJ Stingray, while his rhythmic intricacy and steely poise recall Shogun Audio, dBridge, and Exit Records.
