Memories of the Future

Unless is the alias for Philadelphia based illustrator and graphic designer, Dewey Saunders. Unless is a multidimensional emcee, a wordsmith who weaves vernacular into abstract syntax fabrics. Being a visual artist as well, he is able to create worlds of imagery, intrigue, and symbolism in a language that operates on multiple levels and functions as a lexicon of alphabetic aesthetic. Unless brings a fresh flow and a unique style of rapid fire rhyming mixed with a very fluid delivery that becomes one with Insted's musical soundscapes. His songs are juxtapositions of everyday life experiences, far out philosophical contemplation, and uplifting messages meant to inspire the listener. On his debut release, Memories of the Future, he has joined forces with producer INSTED, of the L.A. based electronica group THE PHILIPPIANS, to create a powerful force of psychedelic new wave hip hop that no one has heard anything like before. Creative, conceptual, and experimental, this album is a dance record from the future. Exploring themes that delve into the metaphysical mind and meandering to ideas about the Earth's current state of affairs, to classic hip hop, Memories of the Future is a transmission that should be played in clubs in space, basements of underground hip hop junkies, and headphones of music aficionados.
