ABOUT THE ALBUM
Not only is this the first collection to showcase Kenton orchestra performances from all four decades of it's existence, from Stan's 1940 rehearsal band through the final tour in 1978, but of the 68 tracks, only a small handful have ever been released anywhere! Sources include radio and TV broadcasts, live performances, rehearsals and studio sessions, while the recordings offer such candy for the Kenton collector as a bunch of unreleased charts from Kenton's most influential arrangers, totally reworked versions of old favorites and even three rare June Christy vocals (on My Guy's Come Back; All the Things You Are, and Lullaby in Rhythm).
