Horns Of Plenty, Vol. 3

Start with Stan Kenton's early 60\'s Mellophonium Orchestra painting gorgeous hues in it's ballad interpretations, swinging mightily on up-tempo charts and sizzling in their readings of concert pieces. Now add a professional-grade college ensemble playing very demanding and elegant material with precision and passion. Mix in a 14-page booklet with appealing unpublished photos, thorough essays outlining the history of horn use by the Kenton band and Stan's major contributions to jazz education, along with very creative graphic design. And let's not forget that must-have final ingredient..... exceptional sound reproduction! This tasty blend results in one of the most exhilarating, profound and visually attractive multi-disc big band jazz packages ever released.
