We're Animals

Numbers (San Francisco): Indra Dunis (vocals, drums); Dave Broekema (guitar, background vocals); Eric Landmark (keyboards).WE'RE ANIMALS, the fourth album by the San Francisco-based group Numbers, and their first on the Kill Rock Stars label, is a beautiful blast of arty noise-rock, New Wave electro-pulses, Kraut-rock inspired grooves, twitchy IDM, and classic indie rock. The burbling atmospheres and the na?ve, lovely voice of singer Indra Dunis may evoke comparisons to Stereolab, but Numbers have a spiky, garage-flavored punk aesthetic all their own that packs all the more punch for it's sublimation into an electronics-flavored soundscape. One of Numbers' most diverse and developed albums, WE'RE ANIMALS is the sound of an indie band on the rise.
