Can't Outrun The Blues

Vinyl LP pressing. Can't Outrun The Blues marks the long-awaited solo debut from GRAMMY® Award winner and reigning IBMA Guitar Player of the Year Trey Hensley, a musician widely regarded as one of the most electrifying young talents in bluegrass and roots music. Known for his jaw-dropping flatpicking and deeply expressive baritone voice, Hensley steps confidently into the spotlight with a record that honors tradition while pushing the genre forward with grit and modern edge. Across ten tracks, Hensley blends bluegrass, country, and blues-infused Americana into a cohesive statement of purpose. Originals like the title track and ""High Cost Of Goodbye"" showcase his songwriting depth and emotional weight, while carefully chosen cuts such as ""Up On Cripple Creek"" and ""Unknown Legend"" reflect his reverence for the lineage of American roots music. The performances are both technically stunning and emotionally grounded, balancing virtuosity with heart. The album is elevated further by an impressive roster of special guests, including Molly Tuttle, Vince Gill, Steve Wariner, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, whose contributions add texture and legacy without overshadowing Hensley's commanding presence. The result is a timeless yet contemporary collection-rich in musicianship, steeped in tradition, and delivered with the fire of an artist fully stepping into his own.
