ABOUT THE ALBUM
KIP HANRAHAN, JACK BRUCE, DON PULLEN, CHARLES NEVILLE, CARMEN LUNDY, ALLEN TOUSSAINT, LEO NOCENTELLI, ALFREDO TRIFF, ROBBIE AMEEN, JT LEWIS, GEORGE ADAMS, MILTON CARDONA, ANTHONY CARRILLO, CHOCOLATE ARMENTEROS, DINO SALUZZI, RENAUD GARCIA-FONS, MICHAEL REISLER, WOLFGANG PUCHNIK, ANDY GONZALEZ, GIOVANNI HIDALGO, JERRY GONZALEZ, ELYSEE PYRONNEAU, STEVE SWALLOW The record opens with a ten minute live version of Buddy Bolden's Blues which features Jack Bruce's salt of the earth vocals paving the way for an astonishing New Orleans piano showcase from Toussaint that has the audience audibly gasping in disbelief and joy. The six pieces that follow are dramatically different yet somehow intertwined. All Roads are Made of the Flesh should have a lot of curious listeners waiting to see where Kip Hanrahan's travels lead to next. Where much of the new global fusion is rhythm as an intellectual exercise, Hanrahan's music evoke the many textures of desire and sensuality.
