ABOUT THE ALBUM
Shaken is full of potent memories and emotional outpouring translated into warm but dark sonic textures - sort of a rootsy Frankenstein's monster with essences of Broadcast, Portishead, Serge Gainesbourg, and Ennio Morricone felt throughout. Maggie Bjorklund's haunting pedal steel is here backed by Jim Barr (Portishead), John Parrish (PJ Harvey, Sparklehorse), John Covertino (Calexico), and vocals from Kurt Wagner (Lambchop) "This beguiling Americana album often sounds like it belongs in a David Lynch film." - BOSTON GLOBE
