Twenty-Five Views of Worthing

Seelie Court - the world's premier label for rare and previously unreleased archive recordings of underground folk, rock, proto-metal, and psychedelic music presents Twenty-Five Views of Worthing. Collecting the remarkable output of a band that captured the adventurous spirit of early 1970s British prog, jazz, and art rock, and formed in 1970 by Watford schoolfriends Roger Hillier and Mark Sugden, the band evolved from their psychedelic roots in Primrose Path into a tight ensemble blending Canterbury-style jazz influences with inventive rock arrangements. The album showcases material recorded at Island Studios during rare downtime sessions, along with tracks from their independently released 7" EP, highlighting the band's versatility-from intricate instrumental passages to playful, quirky compositions. Though commercial success eluded them, their music was appreciated by student audiences and peers alike. Now fully restored and presented on CD, this release preserves the spirit of a band whose creativity, humor, and experimental drive remain as fresh and engaging as ever, offering a vivid snapshot of a lost chapter in UK progressive rock.
