Feelin' Alright (Mod)

With Feelin' Alright, Delbert McClinton continues to blaze his own trail through the landscape of American roots music. This 1984 album is a testament to his signature blend of blues, rock, and country-genres he's been effortlessly gliding between for decades. By now, McClinton's journey from Fort Worth's rough-and-tumble blues clubs to national recognition is well-known, and Feelin' Alright captures that road-worn experience in every note. McClinton showcases his unmatched ability to fuse original compositions with carefully selected covers, including nods to blues greats like Sonny Boy Williamson. With his powerful harmonica riffs, gritty vocals, and a groove-heavy rhythm section, Delbert delivers each track with the kind of authenticity that can only come from years spent mastering the craft. Songs like the title track "Feelin' Alright" highlight his versatility, bringing together roadhouse blues and Texas soul, while cuts like "Givin' It Up for Your Love" further cement his reputation as one of the most dynamic performers of the era.
