Paper Garden

The Paper Garden is the sole album by the American psychedelic rock band Paper Garden, released in 1969. This self-titled album is a hidden gem of the psychedelic era, known for it's complex arrangements, inventive use of instruments, and a wide variety of influences ranging from baroque pop to jazz and classical music. Despite receiving little attention at the time of it's release, the album has since gained a cult following among collectors and enthusiasts of 1960s psychedelic music. Tracks like "Lady's Man" and "Way Up High" showcase the band's ability to blend lush orchestration with whimsical, surreal lyrics, creating a sound that is both eclectic and distinctive. The album is also notable for it's innovative use of unusual time signatures and experimental studio techniques, making it a standout in the genre. The Paper Garden was released on Musicor Records, a label that was more commonly associated with country and pop acts, which may have contributed to the album's initial obscurity. However, over the years, it has been rediscovered and appreciated as a prime example of late-1960s psychedelic rock, reflecting the adventurous spirit of the time.
