Billies Bones & Folk Is the New Black

Digitally remastered two CD set containing a pair of albums from the American Folk/Pop singer/songwriter: Billie's Bones (2004) and Folk Is the New Black (2005). Billie's Bones was co-produced by Janis, Jeff Balding and Marc Moreau. It was recorded in Nashville and includes the Woody Guthrie co-write 'I Hear You Sing Again' and guest vocals from Dolly Parton on 'My Tennessee Hills'. Folk Is the New Black sees Janis return to her roots with a true Folk album: sparse but tasteful instrumentation underneath powerful lyrics of social and political social commentary, with enough variety to keep the listener beguiled. Edsel. 2010.
