ABOUT THE ALBUM
Reissue. With a glittery mix of jangly guitars bossa nova & sophisticated melancholic pop melodies the Friend I Once Had was a big step forwards for Club 8. Their debut album Nouvelle may be regarded as a twee pop classic by some but the band would happily rather bury most the songs under a rock. This is the album they wish was their debut. All bubble-pop break beats & xylophones Friend I Once Had was a step forward from the fey gestures Club 8 had once been known for ALL.
