Time To Pretend

They say that good things come to those who wait, and for fans of Brooklyn-based electro psych outfit MGMT, this is certainly true. After years of word-of-mouth buzz generated by CD-Rs handed out by the band at live shows, fans were finally treated to an official release, the TIME TO PRETEND EP in 2005. The TIME TO PRETEND EP is composed of six entirely unique songs, from the youthful exuberance of the title track to the four-on-the-floor dance anthem "Kids" and space pop whimsy of "Love Always Remains". MGMT displays a potent combination of raw talent and musical maturity that is extremely rare in a debut release. With their blend of underground indie influences and infectious dance beats, it's no wonder that the group has garnered comparisons to great artists as three-time tour mates of Montreal, as well as the Flaming Lips, the Postal Service and the Knife.
