Shimmy Ya / Gin N Juice

Mr Bongo is extremely proud to release this much-anticipated 7" cut from our reggae master Prince Fatty. This heavy double a side vinyl showcases 2 tracks of the new album coming later in 2009. Following on from a blinding session with Mark Lamaar for Radio 2 session in April, Prince Fatty is set to blow up a storm in 2009! Two Prince Fatty Dub Plate Specials finally available on 7". These versions have been the highlight of Prince Fatty's DJ set for the last few months - causing mayhem and rewind requests every time and a very special tribute and 1 min silence for Old Dirty Bastard (RIP). Two big crowd pleasers guaranteed to rock the joint - featuring the Toasting Vocals of Horseman and Studio One legend Winston Francis on Gin N Juice and an early Dance Hall Stylee version of Shimmy Shimmy Ya featuring Horseman, cut live - yes live! Like the good old days - the Fatty Riddim Section know how to swing the west coast flavour into a Dub Wise special. P-Funk synth and wah wah guitar over a swinging heavy dub riddim. Horseman tears Snoops vocal into a toasting classic weaving in and out of the smooth vocal tones of Studio One legend Winston Francis. Shimmy Shimmy Ya is a mix of hip hop and early ragga feel - the classic Wu piano hook merging perfectly with the sub bass and Aggrovators style drum pattern. A dangerous version, with a fat bass line and a heavy riddim takes Shimmy Shimmy Ya into the Sound System Arena. Let the battle commence!
