ABOUT THE ALBUM
2011 two CD collection from the Soul legend. Curtis Mayfield is undoubtedly one of soul music's true greats. His influence as profound and far-reaching as that of Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, James Brown or Marvin Gaye. First as a member of the Impressions and then as a solo artist, Mayfield helped define and then re-define soul music, expanding the genre and taking it to new creative heights in the 1970s. Known as 'The Gentle Genius', the late Curtis Mayfield was a songwriter, musician, producer and entrepreneur of immense vision, taste and humanity. Spanning the period 1972 to 1990, this fantastic 2 CD collection draws together some of his finest solo work, reaffirming his standing as one of the undisputed greats of soul music.
