ABOUT THE ALBUM
Former Charlie Parker cohort and Art Blakey alumnus, trumpet player Kenny Dorham rivaled his greatest contemporaries in technical command, tunefulness and beauty of timbre. Quiet Kenny is a supremely beautiful album of ballads and blues from 1959 and is considered by many to be Dorham's finest hour. Here he is joined by an all-star rhythm section featuring Tommy Flanagan, Paul Chambers and Art Taylor. The XRCD version of this stunning classic rivals any version to date!
