ABOUT THE ALBUM
Styke's stark songs roil with themes e of loss, resignation and love laid bare, playing them sonically and lyrically somewhere in between, vintage Neil Young, the warm country-gothic-noir of Nick Cave and the elegant indie rock of Cat Power. OH MY GIRL is the second full-length with guitarists/songwriter Phil Wandscher (Whiskeytown). "Sykes has a Sandy Denny-like ability to swing unpredictably to swing unpredictably between brittle vulnerability and calm, centered power and her songwriting is mesmerizing in it's stong-solid refusal to move at any buts it's own glacial, deliberate pace - Chicago Reader"
