ABOUT THE ALBUM

Two CD set highlighting the very best of Family's incredible musical journey. Growing out of the R&B boom of the early '60s, Family's sound evolved into a unique mix of blues, folk, jazz, psychedelia and high energy rock 'n' roll built around the distinctive vocals of frontman Roger Chapman, Charlie Whitney's innovative guitar playing and Rob Townsend's thunderous drumming. The band released eight albums during their seven-year career, scoring four top singles and seven chart albums in the process. These recordings have been remastered as part of the process of compiling the acclaimed and now sold-out box set, Once Upon A Time. History collects tracks from throughout the band's career to offer a perfect introduction to this fascinating group.
