Pretty Things & Get The Picture

PRETTY THINGS / GET THE PICTURE Featuring the hoarse vocals of Mick Jagger-lookalike Phil May and the stinging leads of guitarist Dick Taylor (who actually played in early versions of the Rolling Stones), The Pretty Things' first two albums (both released in 1965) remain the group's most exciting and influential efforts that, quite frankly, make the early Stones sound positively pedestrian and genteel by comparison! Here they are together on a single CD that includes the Pretties' first-rate original hits (Rainin' in My Heart; Honey I Need and Don't Bring Me Down, later covered by David Bowie on his Pin Ups album) plus ripping takes on numbers by Bo Diddley (Roadrunner; Mama, Keep Your Big Mouth Shut, and She's Fine, She's Mine) and Willie Dixon (Big Boss Man)! Double CD, the first two Pretty Things' albums. The Pretty Things (1965) - Get the Picture? (1965)
