Private Lives

Iconoclastic. Everlasting. Born from the womb of Y2K techno paranoia, Death from Above 1979 have been a cathartic through-line since 2001. Touted by Stereogum as "one of the most explosive rock duos of the 21st century," the band has survived CDs, MP3s, pirating, streaming and AI slop completely undeterred. Their seminal debut, You're a Woman, I'm a Machine (2004) became a dance-punk cornerstone; The Physical World (2014) marked a triumphant reunion including a mainstage performance at Coachella; Outrage! Is Now (2017) expanded the band's sonic palette without sacrificing intensity; and Is 4 Lovers (2021) earned praise from NME as "their best album since their debut." Now, in 2026, Death from Above 1979 blast off once again, celebrating their 25th anniversary with the announce of their fifth LP, Private Lives.
