Physical World (Eleventh Anniversary Deluxe Ed.)

It doesn't matter how Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler met and formed the Toronto rock duo Death from Above 1979 (either on a pirate ship or in prison, take your pick). All that really matters is that they found a way to blend power rock and dance fl oor sensibilities, fi nally giving today's sound the swagger it's been missing. Their iconic debut album, You're a Woman, I'm a Machine has enough blaring ri s, o -beat lyrics, intense rhythms, and strong hooks to satisfy anyone. Their follow-up sophomore album, The Physical World, saw the band reuniting at Coachella + performing on David Letterman in 2014. With high praise from the likes of Kerrang (100% score), NME (90% score), Alt Press (90% score), etc, The Physical World subsequently won ROCK ALBUM OF THE YEAR at the 2015 JUNO Awards, along with debuting at #3 on the Billboard Top Alternative Albums Chart."With this record we were on the bumpy road of expanding our sound while staying true to the weird sideways approach we came up with in the hazy dreamlike early days. The fi rst three days of the session were spent in studio 3 at Sunset Sound in LA. Prince's room! Elliott Smith's room! The session was most certainly haunted." -SEBASTIEN GRAINGER (DFA1979Death from Above 1979 celebrate the ELEVENTH ANNIVERSARY of THE PHYSICAL WORLD with a *surprise* DELUXE EDITION. With the album amassing over 75MIL+ STREAMS, the band has added 4 ACOUSTIC TRACKS from the vault, including fan-favourite "Trainwreck 1979 (Acoustic Version)". Praised for it's "sleek musculature and acrobatic ri s" (Pitchfork) + shining reviews from Kerrang (100%), Alt Press (90%), DFA spent 2014 bringing The Physical World to LETTERMAN (performance), COACHELLA (reunion), etc.
