October (Jmlp)

180 gram deluxe gatefold pink vinyl. October is the second album by British singer-songwriter Claire Hamill, originally released in 1973. Throughout the album, there is an underlying sense of melancholy, perfectly encapsulated by the title, October, which evokes a season of change and introspection. Notably, the track "Speedbreaker" explores her well known affair with fellow singer-songwriter, John Martyn. The album also includes guest appearances from Alan White (Yes), Gerry Conway (Fairport Convention), and Henry Spinetti (Eric Clapton Band). Claire Hamill's October showcases a unique blend of folk, soft rock, and atmospheric melodies, remaining a hidden gem of the 70's music era, offering a lush, emotional, and deeply reflective listening experience.
