Mutants Of The Monster: Tribute To Black Oak Arkansas / Various

"Mutants Of The Monster" is a double album tribute to 1970's Arena Rock legends Black Oak Arkansas. Black Oak Arkansas is often unfairly lumped in with Southern Rock bands from the same era - but the band had an unparalleled stage act and it is the conventional critical wisdom that David Lee Roth of Van Halen co-opted the majority of his schtick from Jim Dandy. Joecephus & The George Jonestown Massacre provide rock hard backing to the guest vocalists and instrumentalists that appear on the record breathing new life and energy into BOA's classic catalog. Featured artists include BOA members Jim "Dandy" Mangrum, Rickie Lee Reynolds and Jimmy Henderson, Shooter Jennings, Jello Biafra, Eddie Spaghetti (Supersuckers), Greg Ginn (Black Flag), Nik Turner (Hawkwind), Michael Denner (Mercyful Fate, King Diamond), Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson Band), Blaine Cartwright and Ruyter Suys (Nashville Pussy), and a host of others.
