ABOUT THE ALBUM
Two CD set. Colombian cumbia is the beloved tropical dance music characterized by rolling drums, maracas and the royally raspy guacharaca scraper. This Rough Guide highlights the best from cumbia's coastal Afro-Caribbean roots through to it's entirely modern incarnations. Explore the vintage works of Lucho Bermúdez, Los Corraleros de Majagual through to the urban styling's of El Hijo de la Cumbia and Los Chapillacs. Bonus CD: The Rough Guide to Los Corraleros de Majagual. Los Corraleros, the award-winning Colombian orchestra, formed around 1961 and are still going strong today. This exclusive retrospective features some of their greatest cumbias such as "La Medallita" and "Cumbia Campesina. "
