Waves of Past Relations

Atoi is a band from Copenhagen, Denmark, that reaches for threads to hold on to, which turns in to funny balls of yarn and colorful sweaters. The music is knit together by four individuals that in assembly creates a diverse outcome, played with an ever-changing instrumentation and odd pop melodies. It is fine Scandinavian electronic indie with a touch of northern melancholy; soundscapes and sweet pop melodies, which makes you drift off to far away shores. The band released their cover of Björk's "Army of Me" on her own record. "Army of Me", remixes and covers and in February 2009 they released their debut album Youth Machine. To accompany the album, a remix EP was released, featuring remixes of different album tracks by renowned producers such as Opiate (Thomas Knak), Kasper Bjorke (Filur) and MhM One (Tartelet Records). The stunning paper cut artwork for both releases has been created by Danish artist MaMaMo. Atoi has been a well-known figure in the Danish underground for some time.
