Sword & The Soaring

Los Angeles-born rapper, producer, professional skateboarder, and multidisciplinary artist Navy Blue (Sage Elsesser) shares The Sword & The Soaring. The 15-track body of work marks a new era of introspection, faith, and mastery for the artist, following his acclaimed 2024 release Memoirs in Armour. Across the record, Navy Blue navigates the balance between discipline and surrender, shadow and transcendence. The title reflects duality - "The Sword" as the symbol of endurance and "The Soaring" as the embodiment of grace.Produced by Child Actor, Chris Keys, Gray Matter, Demahjiae, Foisey, Shungu, Malik, akabluesky, Animoss, Sebb Bash, Mejiwahn, and Navy Blue himself, the project continues Sage's signature blend of meditative lyricism and warm, sample-driven production. The album's centerpiece, "24 Gospel," reunites him with longtime collaborator Earl Sweatshirt, their synergy capturing the spirit of creative brotherhood that runs throughout the record.
