Andromeda

The London-based saxophonist and composer Alex Garnett published with "Andromeda" is his second solo album - the first of it's tenor saxophone project Bunch Of 5. The quintet transmits the classic format of dueling saxophones in a contemporary context, it refreshes without him However, to take his gladiatorial character. Bunch Of 5 roots in Groove and Swing and combine the eclectic tastes and experience of it's members - that there are still many freedoms and room for experimentation within the different song structures, is the great merit of the five. The two front men - Garnett, who also wrote all the songs, and the second saxophonist, the New York Tim Armacost - together have more than 50 years of gaming experience, pre-recorded worldwide in clubs and festivals. The group is rounded out by a splendid rhythm section to the British jazz pianist Liam Noble, the American bassist Michael Janisch and drummer James Maddren London.
