Take...The Greatest Hits

CD reissue. One of jazz music's leading lights, who made a lasting impression as both a pianist and composer, Dave Brubeck was also one of the first to score a major crossover hit, a feat achieved with the perennial favourite 'Take Five'. There were to be other hits too, and this collection of fourteen tracks draws from his extensive catalog and features well known tracks from start to finish. 'Unsquare Dance' is every bit as compelling as 'Take Five', while the interpretations he offers of several tracks from West Side Story are a revelation.
