ABOUT THE ALBUM
Featuring the combined talents of Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, J.J. Johnson and Miles Davis, a veritable who's who of jazz talent, the World of Charlie Parker is an appropriate title. His meteoric rise saw him become an influence on just about every jazz musician who followed, with his legacy still being felt today. The founder of bebop, he was also a master of choral improvisation, creating new melodies based on the structure of a song. Whilst it was a style that many tried to emulate, no one managed it as well as Charlie Parker, the undoubted master. Hallmark.
