Nature Morte

To record this work based on Joseph Brodsky's poem "Nature Morte," Nabatov has assembled an extraordinary ensemble: vocalist Phil Minton, reed player Frank Gratkowski, trombonist Nils Wogram & Nabatov on piano. As Stuart Boomer writes in his notes, "Simon's "Nature Morte" is a miracle of craft & vision, a rare synchrony of parts in which text, composition & improvisation are heard as essential complementaries."
